Lalit Valecha filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) concerning the liquor sales policy during the COVID-19 pandemic. The petition highlighted the lack of social distancing and enforcement measures at liquor stores, risking public health.
In response, the Delhi High Court, under Chief Justice and Justice C. Hari Shankar, conducted proceedings via video conferencing. The court issued notices to GNCTD, requesting a counter-affidavit on the implementation of safety protocols.
